県大ネット創刊にあたって

このたび、県大ネットというバイリンガル情報誌を発刊することになりました。静岡県立大学には事務局が発行している「学内ニュース」という情報誌がありますが、これは学内の教職員向けに書かれた内輪のものです。それにたいし、県大ネットは教官と学生の有志がつくるいわばＰＢ（プライベ−トブランド）情報誌で、学内のみならず広く海外の読者も想定しています。 「県大ネット」の目的はふたつあります。ひとつは、「国際化時代のグローバル大学を目指して」というこの情報誌のスローガンにもあるように、県立大学がグローバル大学の仲間入りをするためのお手伝いを情報面からすることです。グローバル大学とは、インパクトのある情報を創造し、世界に向けて発信している大学のことです。海外でも知られ、親しまれ、尊敬され、多くの学生や研究者が学んでみたい、交流してみたいと思う大学のことです。 県立大学は、個々の研究者は世界とつながっていても、大学全体となると留学生課も国際交流会館も英文情報誌もなく、残念ながらまだまだグローバル大学とはいえない状況にあります。しかし、どんな大学であれ、グローバル大学になるという強い意志と意欲がないと、いつしか地域の人しか知らない魅力の乏しいローカル大学になり下がってしまう危険性があります。 「県大ネット」のもうひとつの目的は、外国人留学生および教員と日本人との交流を促し、お互いの理解を深める手助けをすることです。外国人はキャンパスに多様性と活力をもたらしてくれる大学の貴重な財産です。しかし、日本人とのコミュニケーションはかならずしも十分とはいえません。日本人の友人がなかなかできないという声も聞かれます。「県大ネット」では、留学生にとって、県立大学が生涯、こころのふるさとになるように、留学生の視点を大切にしていきたいと考えています。 私たちは、これまで「草薙ネット」と「経情ネット」というふたつの情報誌を発刊してまいりまし たが、最近は新聞等でも取り上げられ、読者からは確かな手応えがあります。県大ネットでもこのノウハウを生かして、おもしろくインパクトのある紙面づくりをこころがけていきたいと思っています。なお、創刊号では、留学生の生活特集およびキャンパスの紙上ギャラリー・コーナーでビジュアルな演出を試みました。 「県大ネット」は、国内外の大学、県内の高校、国際交流機関、マスコミ等に配布いたします。さらに、８月より、インターネット上にホームページを開設し、全国、全世界に向けて発信いたします。 県大ネットについてのご意見ご感想がありましたら、どうぞ編集部までお寄せ下さい。グローバル大学にふさわしい情報誌づくりを目指してまいりますので、今後ともご支援とご愛読のほどよろしくお願い申しあげます。 |
This is the first issue of "The Kendai
Net" or "The Net of the University of Shizuoka (Prefecture)."
The University issues its official monthly, "Campus News," which
is written in Japanese and whose target is the faculty and the administrative
staff on campus. Ours is an unofficial bilingual newsletter by a voluntary
group of the faculty and students and aims at a wider range of readers,
both in Japan and overseas. The purpose of the newsletter is twofold: One
is, as its slogan says, to help the University of Shizuoka Prefecture to
become recognized as a "Global University" and well-known world-wide;
the other is to promote an understanding between Japanese and international
students and scholars. We have so far successfully issued two newsletters,
"The Kusanagi Net (a university & community paper) and Keijou
Net (the School*s newsletter). We try to make the Kendai Net interesting
and attractive, making full use of their know-how. We have so far successfully
issued two newsletters, "The Kusanagi Net" (a community paper)
and "The Keijo Net" (a newsletter of our School) and will use
their knowhow to make the Kendai Net more interesting to read. The Kendai
Net will be distributed to high schools, colleges, and universities in
Japan and overseas, international organizations, and the mass media. The
home page service will also start in August through the internet.. We hope
you will enjoy reading the Kendai Net and also look forward to hearing
from you in the near future.
